PEMBROKE – Peter W. Arnold, 60, of Pembroke, New Hampshire, left us way too suddenly on October 31, 2018, following a lifetime of love and friendship to all who had the pleasure of his company. Born in Worcester, MA, he is the son of Ruth B. Arnold and the late Robert B. Arnold.

Peter leaves behind his best friend and love of many years, Kimberly Yarlott, and his children and their partners, Christopher Arnold and fiancée Alexandra Tillson-Raymond of Concord, NH, and daughter Brittany and her husband Greg Frank of Longmont, CO.

Growing up in the restaurant business with his family's Weeks Family Restaurants, Peter excelled at developing strong customer relationships which then carried over into his years of service with Shaw's and Hannaford supermarkets. With Hannaford of Bedford, Peter was instrumental in the implementation of their variety of cook-to-order food concepts, that began at this store and is now the standard for all future locations.

Peter was an expert skier, schussing slopes from Oregon to the Alps. He was smitten by the Beatles at a very early age and always retained a love for their music to this day. One highlight was catching Paul McCartney's concert at Fenway Park. He also loved his 1970 MGB, and traveled with Kim throughout New England for shows and rallies with his MG Club.

Peter became actively involved in the Concord Cold Weather Shelter, again developing strong friendships with those less fortunate and often having cribbage games with the guests. Kim inspired Peter's reading habits with their monthly book club meetings. An excellent cook, Peter loved to entertain their group of friends when it was their night to host.

His home with Kim was landscaped beautifully with his gardens and lawns becoming bigger every year.

Peter would dare you to find a weed in his neatly manicured lawn and he cut fun cross country trails in the woods for the winter enjoyment of his home.

Peter was the consummate uncle and great uncle to all his nieces and nephews and now, to their children. Scrapbooks of photos always show babies cuddled in his arms or, as they grew up, how to play a variety of games. Family was his passion and his hugs were all enveloping upon both seeing you and when he was leaving.

Peter leaves his mother Ruth B. Arnold of Northport, FL, and his two big brothers, Bobby and his wife Heidi Arnold of Bow and Tom and his wife Tootie Arnold of Concord. The nephews, nieces and friends that all meant so much to Peter would fill pages.

A service will be held at South Congregational Church in Concord on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 1 p.m., followed by a reception at the Concord Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, Peter would be pleased to have donations made in his name to the Concord Coalition To End Homelessness, 238 North Main Street, Concord, NH, 03301.

We are all still missing you one year later at Hannaford's. So many people are still talking about you including customers who saw you as more than an employee of the company. We reminisce about our short time spent with you , kidding around, having fun even though we were working . You sure had an impact on everyone around you and we can't not listen to a Beatles song without thinking of you (especially Dear Prudence) . Rest in Strawberry Fields forever dear friend. Some day we shall meet...

Peter will be missed by all including me, his incredible family, his dear Kim, Ruth, his co-workers and every one whose lives he touched. Rest in Peace Peter. I will miss your smiling face.

My thoughts are with the entire Arnold family during this unbelievably difficult time. I always thought the world of Peter and the entire clan. I had only seen Peter briefly within the past couple of years at Shaw's and it was good to say hello and reconnect for a minute. I always remember how he was the one friend who would pick up one of my babies when he came to visit without any hesitation. Fond memories of a Beatles tribute band at the Capital Center and of dinners, board games and...
