McConaghy Funeral Home, Ltd. - Ardmore Obituary

Peter Dahl of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, died unexpectedly on December 7, 2019. He was born July 19, 1973 in Wilmington, Delaware. He grew up in Buffalo, New York, and graduated from Amherst High School. He received his undergraduate degree from SUNY Buffalo and graduated from the University of Vermont Medical School. He completed his residency at Northwell Health in New York and his Endocrinology Fellowship at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell in New York. He practiced medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia and Mainline Health at Riddle Hospital in Media, Pennsylvania.

Peter was generosity and kindness embodied and leaves a legacy of love with his passing. Every person who was lucky enough to know him experienced his depth of kindness, compassion, and caring. Peter’s dedication to his patients was a testament to his value of service to others. He loved music and played the violin, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. An amazing father, Peter lived each day with unparalleled engagement, and never missed a day at the playground, rain or shine.

One of his favorite places was Cape Cod, where he spent summers with his parents and grandparents, and where he married the love of his life, Katie. He and Katie brought their children to Cape Cod to enjoy the beauty and peace of the space that meant so much to them. They recently brought the children back to the Chatham Bars Inn, where they were married, to enjoy French fries and lemonade after a day of lobster fishing.

Peter is survived by his wife, Katie Lackritz, and children, Jeremy Lackritz Dahl and Magnolia Lackritz Dahl. He is also survived by his mother, Jacqueline Burrows, his sisters, Jacqueline Sailer and Priscilla Dahl, and his brother, Joseph Sailer, with four nieces and six nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Dennis Dahl.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday December 14, 2019 at 4:30 PM at Unitarian Universalist Church of Delaware County, 145 West Rose Tree Road, Media, PA 19063. Interment is private.

Not sure what to say?

I am just learning of Dr. Dahl´s passing as I was looking to return to see him as a patient. I saw him roughly in 2015 at Penn. He treated me with compassion for my diabetes and found a small thyroid nodule that no other doctor even examined my neck ever! I needed a biopsy and convinced I had cancer. I called and left a message for Peter panicked and he called me on his own time from his personal cell phone understanding how scared I was! He was the embodiment of what a human and doctor ought...

Just found out last night. SSorry doesn't seem sufficient. Peter was just a kid when we met. He only lived in Buffalo sporadically at that point, spending time w/his father, & going to school. He loved all the animals that frequented the house, especially Alex, & later, your Rottweiler. Peter came back from Texas at one point with a new maroon Toyota pickup from his father. That truck got very good care. Peter was very studious. I came to admire how he was able stick w/ his studies, & not...

Katie, I am heartsick for you and your precious family. I wish you peace and the ability to embrace all the love and support that surrounds you.

Deeply saddened when I saw the letter from the hospital. He was a great man, always cheerful. I have only seen him twice at riddle and he became my favorite. My prayers are with the family. Hope you find strength to cope up with the loss.

My sympathy to the Dahl family and his office staff. My heart was saddened when I opened a letter from Dr. DAHL's office, informing me of the passing of Dr. Dahl. I couldn't believe what I was reading.
I saw him in the office last month. He was a good person, down to earth, willing to help you if needed. My prayers are with you.
Marrietta Harper, patient

What a tragedy. The loss of a great doctor and even better human will be felt throughout the community. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

To Dr. Dahl's Wife Katie and Children, Staff as well, It was such a sincere pleasure to have had Dr. Dahl as my doctor the last several years. So upbeat and caring, never rushed through a visit and always wanting to make sure that you as his patient were doing the best you could. Such a huge loss for all that he took care of. Prayers for all his family, staff, and friends, as we try to carry on without him. May he Rest in Peace, Diane B. Novelli
