DERI--Peter C., a clinical psychologist in private practice in New York City and formerly in White Plains, died suddenly on November 20, 2025, near his second home in Lenox, Massachusetts. Born in 1944 to Otto and Susan K. Deri, he was predeceased by his brother, John. Peter earned a B.A. at the University of Vermont, an M.A. at the New School, received a PhD from the NYU School Psychology program and a certificate in psycho- analysis from the NYU Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Lisa Kaufman, children Christopher Deri (Erinn) and Sarah Deri Oshiro (Theo), granddaughters Kate, Ryan, and Grace Deri and Paz and Ines Oshiro, stepdaughters Emily and Kathryn Isaac, and many cherished friends and grateful patients. He loved his life and spent much of it caring for others. A memorial will be held January 25, at 2:00pm at Riverside Memorial Chapel, 180 W 76th St., New York, NY.

My condolences to the family of Dr. Deri, a true gentleman. Always loved chatting with him whenever I saw him over the years in the city, Hamptons or Berkshires. A true intellectual and truly a decent human being. He will be missed. "Pete Nice" is what we called him, because he was cool like a rapper and nice like ... a psychotherapist from the Upper West Side. Peace.

I had done work for Peter at his home in Lenox. He was wine of the kindest people I have ever met. He was a joy to be around and will be missed by everyone he touched. My condolences to his family..
