Peter Joseph Corcoran II, age 87, beloved brother, son, father & husband of 42 years to Catherine N. Corcoran (died 2009) & 15 years to Mary Carol Rust, of
Comfort, TX passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12th, 2025, at Comfort Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in
Comfort, Texas with his son, Michel Newkirk Corcoran by his side. Peter was born on April 27, 1938 in
Chicago, Illinois to the late Eugene F. Corcoran, Sr. and Ann Clare (Nancy) McNulty Corcoran. He was a High School football star at Frances W. Parker School. Peter attended the University of Vermont. Peter Enjoyed Religion, Snow/Water Skiing, Snowmobile, Sports, Social Life, Shooting, Engineering, Cowboy/Outdoor Adventures and Politics. Peter was a highly regarded Gardener, Construction Project Engineer for Turner Construction Co. & Clark Construction for over 30 years. Building monuments that will outlast his Great, Great Grandchildren. Peter would even do several jobs at once. A feat unheard of for his day. When Peter wasn't building America, he was with his family. A family man at heart, Peter used to support the NASA Space Shuttle program and would attend their launches. One launch (1988), the launch after the Discovery Disaster in 1986, had John Denver (Hank Dusseldorf), his son Zach with he and his son Michael with him in attendance. They sang John Denver songs the whole ride home. Peter was known by his son & grandchildren as "Heya Pop!" He loved Bugs Bunny (Mel Blanc) and it is a reference to a particular skit. Peter was an avid supporter of the YMCA through their Camp Manitowish in Boulder Junction, WI. Where, his father, Eugene F. Corcoran, Sr. was a founder. One of Peter's favorite pastimes was Easter Sunday brunches with his family at expensive restaurants. His favorite of all time was, "The French Room" in Dallas, Texas. Peter was an avid Religious person. He was a Roman Catholic and direct descendent of Abraham. His face is exactly like Abraham's face as painted in the Sistine Chapel in The Vatican. He regularly attended mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. So much so, he built them a new church in
Comfort, TX. He was also an active member of Comfort Baptist Church where he attended services and Bible Study with his wife Mary Carol Rust and Pastor Travis. Peter is survived by his widow, Mary-Carol Rust, sons, Peter Joseph Corcoran III of Texarkana, TX & Michael Newkirk Corcoran of Coral Springs, FL: His Grandchildren Peter Joseph Corcoran IV (Drew), Raney Corcoran, Aiden Corcoran, Rowan Corcoran, Paul & Joel Osteen, Miguel Gonzales and his Great Grandchildren who are too many to name.
