Sandra Jean "Sandy" Corcoran

Sandra Jean "Sandy" Corcoran, 69, of Lakewood, N.Y., passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at her daughter Stephanie's home surrounded by her loving family.

Sandy was born July 10, 1956, in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of the late Clarence and Betty Jean Veitz Corcoran.

Sandy graduated from Southwestern Central School in 1974. Sandy enjoyed crafting, playing BINGO, game shows, soap operas, baking, cooking and she loved jewelry. She looked forward to trips to Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino and Niagara Falls, Canada.

Sandy loved her family and spending time with them, she truly loved her grandsons, and she was very proud of them. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas Eve and getting together with her family. Sandy fought and struggled with Multiple Sclerosis for almost thirty years. She loved her fur grandbabies: Stan, Kenny and Bebe.

Sandy is survived by her long-time companion of 28 years: Angelo Rivera of Lakewood, N.Y.; a daughter: Stephanie (Christopher) Miraglia of Jamestown, N.Y.; two grandsons: Alec Overfield and Kyle Miraglia both of Jamestown, N.Y.; a brother: Larry (Donna) Poole of Terre Haute, IN; an aunt: Judy Veitz ( Renee Gravelle) of Cheektowaga, N.Y. and one niece, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Sandy is preceded in death by her brother: Stephen Corcoran.

Family and friends may visit at Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home, 316 E. 5th Street, Jamestown, N.Y. 14701, on Saturday, March 21st from 10AM-Noon. A celebration of life will be held there at noon, Rev. Judith Veitz will officiate.
