I had the privilege of working with Peter while fulfilling my term as Shlichat Aliyah and Representative of the Jewish Agency in Chicago.
As a strong Zionist, Peter was very supportive of our work in Chicago. He always made himself available and made me feel welcome in Chicago- especially within the walls of the Jewish Federation.
I send my sincere condolences to the family, in particular to his daughter Shoshana, who I have met personally. May you all find comfort in the...

,
Sadly, A few minutes ago I learned off Peter's passing. I did not know Peter for many years and I did not get to work with him in the past.
My first encounter with Peter took place only a few weeks ago. However, this encounter was so meaningful for us at Melitz, and for me personally, it marked the beginning of a friendship that I hoped would be a long one.
Dear family, I mourn the loss of your loved one and share your sorrow.
My acquaintance with Peter began by Peter's...

I met Peter in the fall of 1966 when we both entered the graduate program in political science at the U of C. He was one of the brightest students in our group. Unlike many in that category he did finish his PhD.

Over the years Peter became more and more involved with his Jewish identity, the Jewish community and Israel. As a...

Chagit and I sat with you and Andy just two weeks ago after your daughter's wedding. We had such a good time together. I cherish your memory and am proud to have called you a friend. Rest in peace. You did so much for others, for Israel and for the Jewish people. A hug to you Andy and to your whole family.

I did not know Dr Friedman personally, but saw him at EAC. He always smiled and was friendly. I tried to help on Sunday. My sincerest condolences on your loss.

I had the pleasure of meeting Peter during my 8 years at JUF. He was always so jolly and always greeted me and was never too busy to ask how I was doing and that meant alot to me. He did not look down on anyone and always treated me with respect. To Peter, it didn't matter what position you held at JUF, you were just as important as anyone else. Dr. Peter B. Freidman, you can rest now. You will forever be remembered.
