Peter Samuel Leichtfuss

I was Peter's roommate in college and travelled with him in SE Asia in the early 1990s. He was my brother and a week hasn't past when I don't miss him. The world is lessened by his absence. Makes me want to believe in god and heaven so I will meet my friend again. But I won't. Miss you brother

I knew Peter as a real estate attorney who assisted me greatly in negotiating an important lease. I am a small business owner and appreciated his help in the lease negotiations. I was very surprised to read of Peter's untimely passing in the February/March Oregon State Bar Bulletin. I shared an office with Peter at the Oregon DOJ, clerked with him at Lane Powell, and then worked with him at Lane Powell after we finished law school (though I went to L&C, not UO). I have fond memories of him and often tell a story which involved him. When I left the practice of law, I lost touch with him. I am not sure what prompted me to read the obits in the bar magazine, but...

Olivier here...it has been a while and truly sorry to 1st read about Dr. Leichtfuss’ passing and now Peter. My Mom has gone thru this exact sadness of losing her husband and a son. I hope somewhere and somehow you are finding peace. Know that I have never forgot about you and your family. Always. God Bless.

I worked with Peter for the last 13 years and have learned so much from him. He shared with me that one of the key reasons that he started his own practice was to be able to provide more support to the real estate community without necessarily billing for every minute of work. He helped many of my clients not only with representation, but also with invaluable advice without charging a penny. Peter, you will be sorely missed!

I'm sending thoughts to all of Peter's loved ones. He was a sharp and caring man. He was also an excellent lawyer and helped me so much over the years.

I have fond memories of Pete originally through his Multnomah Bar volunteer involvement but then just getting right for a beer or lunches. He was fun and both light & good hearted. Sorry to hear the news and sending condolences to the family. Mona Buckley
