Peter was my mom Eileen Freeds A.k.a. Pitzie Best friend for over 60 years she would be quite saddened if she knew that he passed on but her nursing home will not let me tell her so I just wanted to share that Peter played a big important role in my mom`s life and she will love him forever This is her Debra We remember Peter with such fond memories as he used to come to our house all the time and visit all of us girls

It was truly a blessing to meet and spend some time with Pete at The Orchards. He was great with my students. I enjoyed visits with him when I was there to see other residents or volunteer. Thanks for the dance Pete. Thankful for our last visit and you are peace. Blessings and Condolences to his family and friends. Tami

I work at the Concordia , Pete was so nice kind and made u laugh I will miss seeing him daily at the home ,God bless u Pete Rest My friend .

He was my neighbor for most of my life and he was a kind caring guy and he was really nice to talk to. He made us laugh and he helped so many people. We will miss him.

They say that a true friend is never truly gone. Their spirit lives on in the memories of those who loved them. There are thousands of former students, colleagues that loved Pete - I was only one of many - and I know the memories of times with him will stay with me always. He was a fabulous teacher and later a dear friend who inspired me throughout my career. He was always excited about some new book or antique or experience and I enjoyed every time I saw him because he could make me laugh...

Peter Mantzaris was a gentleman, a scholar, and a master teacher. In his tweed jackets and refined ties, he expressed his love of literature, especially Shakespeare, on the stage of his classroom. And he conveyed that passion with humor, insight, and wit. But he was never stuffy enough to smoke a pipe. No, not that. He was never pretentious enough to think he could change the world. And yet, that he did. He brought literature alive, influenced countless students to appreciate language, and...

Pete will be missed, we met Pete at Panera after he retired from teaching. He was always a joy to visit with.
