Not sure what to say?

I shared a locker with Peter at Mears Jr. High, and went to Dimond Hogh with him as well. He was such a great artist, and his laugh...oh man, what a huge laugh he had! So joyful and full of life he was. We were good friends for a brief few years in school. It sucks I read that he is gone so soon. I didnt know him after school, but sounds like he continued to be a solid guy. RIP Peter., we will laugh again one day bud!... Joe Purvis.

The phrase “Jack of all trades, master of none” could never apply to Peter Porath. I will always remember Pete as putting his all into everything he did, doing nothing half-way, not even when he was a child and lost his temper. Peter worked hard to successfully overcome this by developing tolerance and patience which resulted in him being called a “gentle giant” by many. Sending our thoughts and prayers to family and friends, through this trying time of loss. We became aquainted with Pete when chickens entered our lives over two years ago. He will be remembered to us as the gentle giant, who knew the answer to everything poultry. Who allowed us to invade his privacy and weekend, to come directly to their home/farm when we ended up with roosters, twice. He will truely be missed by all who's lives he touched.

Your wife and children are in our thoughts and prayers. We've kept a candle burning in your honor for weeks. Thanks for introducing us to the wonderful world of chicken keeping. Forever remembered for your honesty, humor, and down- to- earth style.

Rest in peace Pete.

In appreciation, the Wilk family

Sherry, Dale and family - so sorry to hear of Peter's death. We knew him as a very young man with a ready smile and willingness to be an active part of a growing church. Lost touch with him when he went to Concordia and became a teacher, but it sounds like our Lords hand touched him and he was a positive influence in a lot of young peoples lives - what a wonderful legacy to leave. My the wonderful God that took Peter home be with all of you in your grief, knowing that Peter is surrounded...

Say "Hi!" to Nana!

So sorry to read this news. He was a genuinely nice man and so happy and helpful. He will be missed greatly.

I have fond memories of having art competitions in our gradeschool classrooms with Peter. He was a kind person and I give you my best wishes as you mourn the loss of him in this world.
