Peter Simonelli Obituary
CHATHAM - Peter Anthony Simonelli, 57, passed away peacefully in Chatham Mass on March 3rd 2018 with his wife Sarah Simonelli at his side. Peter was an immensely private and passionate man that lived life to the fullest and deeply loved his children with every fiber of his being.
Peter grew up in Southbridge Mass, and upon graduation from high school, started his first company in the Tool and Dye Industry manufacturing airplane parts for Pratt & Whitney. He was a self-taught entrepreneur in business and real estate. Peter was a former shareholder of Ballymeade Country Club and Estates and was the owner of Sims Premier Fitness for over 26 years.
Peter found solace in music and played many instruments, teaching himself how to play the guitar, drums and bagpipes. As a dedicated father, he often enjoyed spending time in his music studio teaching his children about his love for rock and roll. Peter grew up in Southbridge and summered on the Cape as a child. It was on the Cape that he developed a love for the ocean and it ultimately motivated him to purchase a residence in West Barnstable. Peter spent many summer days boating to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard while entertaining family and friends.
Peter was a devoted husband and a proud and loving father. With his heart of gold and a fearless spirit, he enjoyed hiking, golfing and being adventuresome with his young children. He surrounded himself with a close circle of lifelong friends that he respected like family.
Peter is survived by his wife Sarah, their four young children Antonio, Domenick, Sophia, and Marco Simonelli. He is also survived by his daughter Sarah Strom and a grandson. Peter was one of six children and is survived by his three sisters Lisa, Virginia, Gina and two brothers Salvatore and Henry.
A celebration of Peter's life will be held on Friday, March 9th at 1 p.m. at the Federated Church 320 Main Street in Hyannis.
