Maureen Simonelli Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Olson & Parent Funeral Home on Mar. 15, 2026.
Maureen Simonelli, 78, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Mother-in-law, Daughter, and Sister, was called to her eternal resting place on March 10, 2026. She entered this world on May 30, 1947 in Providence, RI. Maureen resided for many years in Johnston, RI where she connected to the community and this was the place she called home. She is survived by her daughter Jeannine Simonelli, daughter Dawn Mollo, her husband Dino Mollo, her grandchildren who were her world; Johnny Lamantia (Johnny cakes); Britney Conover (Britster), her husband Raymond Conover, and sister Janice O'shea (Andrea). She is preceded by her best friend & husband of 56 years Francis G. Simonell, father Manuel Andrea, mother Mary Andrea (Faldago), and brother Michael Andrea. Maureen also shared a close and meaningful relationship with her in-law side of the family who were a very important part of her life, as well as her cherished friendships she had along the way.
Those that knew her intimately, knew of her love for music, bingo, and the immense joy she got from being with her family, especially during the winter holidays, which were always filled with so much love & laughter. Maureen will be remembered just like her favorite song "Summer Wind." We will forever cherish her gentle spirit, warmth, devotion to her family, and the quiet kindness she showed throughout her life. Her love and memory will live on in our hearts Forever Maur.
Funeral services will be private.

Earlier today

I was so sad to hear of Maureens passing! From the moment we met it was like we had known each other our whole lives. But as I got to know Maureen I realized that was just how Maureen treated people. She was the brightest spot in my day. The way she literally lit up when ever she spoke of Frank and Jeannine ( who had the same name as her best friends daughter if I'm remembering correctly. And Maureen had liked the name first for her daughter) and Dawn( my cousin Tracy).
Her love and knowledge of music was

unmatched. Her Genre of music was so wide. She often spoke of how much she loved Amy Winehouse" Valerie" and on the other end loved "Summer Wind" by Frank Sinatra.
She absolutely loved her bingo 4 corners was her favorite game and with good reason - she owned that game everytime! Lol.
I'm going to miss Maureen she will always have a special place in my heart. Jeanine and Dawn I'm sad for the loss of your mom but I'm happy for Maureen and Frank. Together again.
I just want to say you both were so devoted to both your parents that it only had to be a reflection of what wonderful loving parents they must of had been.
" Never underestimate the difference you made and the "lives you touched" This rings so true of all of you. It was a pleasure to have gotten to know all of you.
