George J. SIMONELLI

SIMONELLI, George J. Age 91, of Braintree, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, on January 7, 2026. Born on February 22, 1934, in Boston, George's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, family and hard work.

George was the son of the late Crescenzo Simonelli and Marianina (Simone). He is survived by his wife, Sarah (Lepera); his children, Donna Federico and her husband, Richie of Canton, John Simonelli and his wife, Beverly of Avon, Christine Woods and her husband, Bill of Braintree and Lynne Morrison and her husband, Rob of Bridgewater; his 14 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; his siblings, Marion Panico, Josephine Balboni and Robert Simonelli and his wife, Maurene; and his in-laws, Louie and Janis Lepera. He was predeceased by his late siblings, Madeline Santangelo, Grace Sacco, Norma Pari, Mary Anastasi and Chris Simonelli.

A proud graduate of Boston Tech and a United States Air Force veteran. George's professional life was a remarkable journey of commitment and entrepreneurship. He inherited C. Simonelli and Sons, a family oil business, from his father and dedicated 75 years to its growth and success. His unwavering work ethic was matched only by his passion for his family and community.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours on Tuesday, January 13, from 3:00 – 8:00 PM, at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., BRAINTREE. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 14, at 10:00 AM, at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.
