Awe, I was just telling a friend about this fascinating fella who took an adventurous leap out of an airplane at 80 years of age and had about 60 years of fascinating stories to tell. I didn't know Peter for long, but he was definitely a man to remember. Honestly, I loved every story he told me and I loved his political thoughts, especially those on foreign policy. I didn't realize my Uncle Peter was the real life model for Tom Cruise's character in Top Gun. Kidding, not kidding. I was so blessed to be able to spend some time with him recently, telling stories, reading and laughing at farside cartoons, drinking root beer floats, and hanging out with his cat Kookla at the Veterans Home in Chippewa Falls where he spent his last few months. Cait, Barbara and I are so sad to hear of Pete's passing. He was my mentor and very good friend. We have so many good and fun memories to remember him by.
