Peter Walsh was a great neighbor who provided a safe space for celebration and community bonding. From his dinner table visits with guests, to his ingenious creation of the Coogan's 5K and children's race, the memories are forever heart warming.

Sincerest Sympathies to the Walsh Family. I first met Peter, Dave and the crew of Coogan´s primarily because of the Salsa and Shamrock Blues Run. My sister-in-law was asked to start the race in honor of her husband, and my brother, Capt. Frederick J.ILL, Jr. Peter arranged this as a way of honoring the FDNY after September 11th. Peter Walsh was a force of nature and a force for good. When my friend Ellen Wallop introduced me to him-in advance of running my first NYC Marathon-back in 1998, he greeted me as though we'd been friends for years.
