Petra L. Balboa received her wings July 4, 2017 in Corpus Christi TX at the age of 77 surrounded by loved ones and close friends. She was born in St Paul TX November 30, 1939 to the late Ventura B. Lopez and Maria G. Miranda.

Graduated from W B Ray high school in 1957 and received her LVN degree in 1961 from Del Mar College and then went on to work at Memorial hospital (5 West/CCU) for 35 years and was also an Avon rep for over 50 years where she met no stranger.

She was a faithful member of formerly Templo Betel now the new Harvest Church for over 60 years where she was involved with La Femenil and Girls Auxiliary and where she was a big sister to Kimberly Martinez, her niece.

She met and married the late Nicolas C. Balboa Sr. and were married for 28 years. She will always be cherished and remembered for her sense of humor and unconditional love of family and friends.

Petra was a very giving person and never would anyone leave her house without a hot meal or a blessing. Not a season passed by where she did not spend alongside her mother making tamales and also enjoyed frying fish and making menudo.

A loving and caring wife and mother filled with the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

She was preceded in death by her husband Nicolas C. Balboa Sr. and her twin siblings, Ventura Lopez Jr. and Amelia Rodriguez.

She is survived by her loving and caring children Maria Elvira Pivonka (Marvin), Nicolas Balboa Jr. (Terry) and Orlando Balboa (Yvonne); her loving grand-children Rubi, Bryan (Elisa), Samuel (Amber), Shevi, Juliet and Sebastian; her mother, Maria G. Miranda and her sisters, Lydia L. Adame, Connie L. Gutierrez (Dr. Mario) her brother, Henry G. Miranda and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

Honorary pallbearer will be Ventura Lopez IV and Pallbearers: Arnold Adame Sr., Ventura Gutierrez, Enoch Gutierrez, Ruben Rodriguez Jr., Henry Miranda Jr. and

Ventura Lopez III.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm that same evening.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
