I was saddened by the news of Phil's passing. He was an institution to the Garden Plain community. He was a good example and role model to several generations. He was a good friend to our family. Phil was an important part of our families lives growing up around Garden Plain. As with everyone, he cut my hair for every school photo, graduation events from high school and college, before my job interviews and most important, my wedding.
