I was saddened to here of the passing of Philip Broome. I did not get to the third district (aka old number 13), until 1970. I was just a kid of 20 and Broome took us rookies under his wing and guided us along with his wisdom. He always had a great sense of humor, but got tough with us rookies when we needed it. I would like to express my sympathy to the family of Philip Broome. I feel saddened by his passing but at the same time thankful that I was able to talk with and enjoy his warmth and kindness at the 2007
13th precinct reunion. I hadn't seen or talked to him in almost 40 years. A grest guy who will be long remembered for being the police officer that he was.
