He was my (by 11 months) younger brother. We shared many very early childhood experiences until he caught up to his older male siblings and sought the adventures of his times. Eventually, he became for me an older brother who dared to experience the possibilities of those times. Definitely not always easy but provided the grit that made him an Artist.

An injured owl Phlip fell in love with in East Hampton

Philip has been one of my oldest and dearest friends. I miss him terribly already. The consolation is that the wonderful and uncompromising art he made over the years lives on and will hopefully find the wider recognition it deserves.

I have very good memories. He is now in good company, but will surely be missed.
