So very sorry to hear of Phils passing. He and I started teaching together at WM Jr High @ 40 years ago and his personality was so outgoing and he made friends very easily. Phil was one of finest prep baseball stars this area of Wisconsin ever produced. Whether playing shortstop or pitching he was an absolute star. My memory of 40+years ago recalls he had an electric fastball. He made playing baseball look easy even as an underclassman. I played baseball for Sheboygan Falls High School against his New Holstein High School team and I dont recall ever besting them in a game.
