Not sure what to say?

I knew him as "Mosse", but I always liked and respected him for his calm demeanor. One time, my lunch money was taken (a shake down)! I don't know how he found out, but I was called to his office and he asked how much was taken. I think it was like $1.50, or something like that. He reached into his own pocket and gave me his own $$ so I could buy lunch! To Ness family sorry for your loss Philip Ness was my principal at Stratford high he was a good man he always teased the seniors. He will be missed

My Condolences... RIP

Mr. Ness and Mr. Harvey were our 2 athletic coaches at either Wooster Jr. High, Wilcoxson, or Bunnell High School where I graduated in 1969? Real nice guy but, his physical size was very imposing. Jay Cowperthwaite III

Thank you all for taking the time to express what our Dad meant to you. It has been great comfort to all of us especially Mom. He loved his family his students, colleagues and his players. We are so appreciative of your words. Phil Jr.

I would like to express my deepest condolences to his family. Mr Ness was the assistant principal at Stratford High School when I was a sophomore (1979). He played a huge role in my future, because he talked Mr Crawford (Principal) into not having me thrown out of the entire Stratford school system. Like those extraordinary stars of whose origins we are ignorant, and of whose fate, once they have vanished, we know even less, such men have neither forebears nor descendants: they are the...

My condolences to the family of Coach Ness. A giant in more ways than one. Superb educator and great coach. One of the most influential teachers I ever had.
