While I didn't know Phil well, I met him during the Goodman Cup Squash Tournament where we played a match together. I truly enjoyed meeting him and he was a gentleman of the first degree. I know he will be missed by all. May God be with his family during this trying time.

I met Phil in 1991. He was in my first group of writing students at Mercer Law School. I admired his intellect and his beautiful writing. Later, I admired the love of life, his children, his wife, his family and his musical family that he shared on Facebook. I was so sad to learn he was no longer among us, only a few minutes ago.
Peace to all who intensely love him and shared in his life. May his spirit give you the strength and beauty that he had in this life.

Our thoughts and prayers to all our Walden cousins. We would not have heard this sad news if our dear cousin, Honey (Katherine Wansley) Bush had not heard of the tragedy and called us. We have not seen "Little Phillip" since he would come to the McLendon family gatherings with his doting grandmother, Carolyn McLendon Walden.
