79 year old, Sharion R. Sampson, of Rensselaer, passed away on April 3, 2025, at her home with her loving family around her.
On October 23, 1945, Sharion was born to David Nichols and Jewel (Reed) Counts, in Huntsville, Alabama. She worked as a custodian at Kankakee Valley School Corporation. Sharion enjoyed cooking, sewing, doing cross words, and reading. She loved to sit on her porch swing, and she was an amazing dancer.
Sharion is survived by her children: Phillip (Peter) Ellenburg, Dan (Jill) Fraley, Talara (Crystal) Ellenburg, many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and siblings: Wanda Faye Copeland, Lois Parker, and Lana Erickson.
Sharion was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Melvin Sampson, sisters: Sheila Crownover, Suzanne Rose, and her companion: Jim Province.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. A Friends and Family Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Graveside services for Sharion will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Independence Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Jasper County Veterans Council.
