Phyllis Rippi was no ordinary woman, yet in the most extraordinary, ordinary ways she could make you feel like $1 million dollars. I knew her as a neighbor at first and her wonderful son Jay chummed with my son when they were young boys. At that time I was a divorced, single mother. She always had a moment to speak to me and always encouraging and enlightning words. As the years went by, I bought the Hillside Restaurant.
