Phyllis Rippi was no ordinary woman, yet in the most extraordinary, ordinary ways she could make you feel like $1 million dollars. I knew her as a neighbor at first and her wonderful son Jay chummed with my son when they were young boys. At that time I was a divorced, single mother. She always had a moment to speak to me and always encouraging and enlightning words. As the years went by, I bought the Hillside Restaurant. We had the supreme pleasure of having her and her family as customers. She loved the Hillside. Whenever she came with Jill or Jay and their families it would be a party. She knew how to laugh, and had a beautiful smile and sense of humor. Any time I saw her my barometer went sky high for a great day!! She will be missed! Our condolences.
