Phyllis Smith Obituary

Phyllis Smith

11/24/1936 - 01/06/2026

Phyllis Eleanor Smith, 89, of Spring Hill, Florida, and formerly of Toledo, Ohio, entered into eternal rest on January 6, 2026.

Phyllis was born on November 24, 1936, in Medina, Ohio, the daughter of Floyd and Georgia (Chandler) Bollia. She married Gerald G. Smith on July 17, 1999. Her loving husband of 26 years, Gerald, survives. Phyllis is also survived by her son, Todd Heidtman (Karla); daughters, Robin Weickert (C. Alan), Heidi Loyer (Dave); and her son-in-law, Robert Lindhorst. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Kay. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Teri Lindhorst; great-grandson, Wesley Huddleston; and sisters, Donna and Judy.

Phyllis worked for 30 years in the Treasurer Office of the Toledo, Ohio, Public Schools. She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Brooksville. She enjoyed China painting and traveling with her husband, Gerry.

Phyllis made many, many friends, and she had a kind and loving personality since the day we met. Tragically, Alzheimer's invited themselves into my love in 2010.

The family would like to thank those that tended to her wonderful care through the years.

A celebration of Phyllis' life will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, in Brooksville, FL, February 7th, with a 10:00 a.m. visitation, 10:30 a.m. service, with a luncheon to follow. The service will be livestreamed, and you can watch at https://www.clcfla.org/ In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of Christ Lutheran Church of Brooksville, FL.
