Phyllis E. Thomson

1934 - 2023

Phyllis E. Thomson, 89, of Fawn Township, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023, at Magnolia Place, Saxonburg. She was born May 19, 1934, in Brackenridge, to the late Kenneth and Edna Blanche (Martz) Wiskemann. Phyllis lived the past 67 years in Fawn Township and was of the Methodist faith. She was a manager in the food department at the G.B. Mall for 10 years, was a waitress at McCool's restaurant in Tarentum and K-Mart snack bar. Phyllis was a 1952 graduate of Tarentum High School. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking and baking, crafts, gardening and raising her family. The family would like to thank the staff of Magnolia Place, Saxonburg, and Hope Hospice for their love and care of Phyllis. Survivors include her children, David V. (Tina) Thomson, of Allegheny Townhip, and Charles E. (Bonita) Thomson, of Orlando, Fla.; twin sons, Daniel R. (Gina) Thomson, of Brackenridge, and Dennis R. (Marya) Thomson, of Pittsburgh; and seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomson III; a son, William A. Thomson; and four brothers, Ronald, Gary, Kenneth and Marlin Wiskemann. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Friday in DUSTER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 347 E. 10th Ave., Tarentum, 724-224-1526, with her niece, Pastor Sandra Fitzgibbon, CLS, officiating.
