Happy Times!

Pookie was my children´s Grandmother, my Mother-In-Law, loving Mother to my first husband Richard, her only son, who passed away unexpectedly at the early age of 45. Pookie had experienced tremendous loss, with the passing of three of her adult children, Andrea (Ney), Richie, Denise, (Neecy Bug), AND her grandson Tommy, who lost his life at the tender age of 21. Such an unimaginable loss! Life is not fair! I don´t know how any person could make it through all of this, but Pookie did....

I'll never forget the summers playing in the hot El Centro sun as a child at your house, visiting the Country Boy to see you, Nana and all the family or the cool leisurely summers playing in the upper Sacramento River, walking the train tracks with my fishing pole, swimming with my cousins and eating freshly picked blueberries from the yard that you would cook to mix into pancakes for breakfast. I grew up calling you Grandma mom you were like a mother to me when I was little. There has been and always will be a special place in my heart and memory of you Grandma. Now you are with my mom again and Aunt Nay and Uncle Richard and Tommy. Love. Dewayne
