I'm sorry to hear of Raffael's passing. He had such a fondness for haiku and music. He will be missed.

Mr.DeGruttola was my teacher at the Michealangelo school in the North End.I remember him pronouncing my last name the real way it was supposed to be said.I always say my last name the Italian way he taught me, I was so proud that we had an Italian teacher in the North End,We all loved him in the North End, he taught us to be proud of being Italian!May God bless him,GREAT guy!Skip Imbergamo!

Raffael was a good friend of mine when I was at the Bureau of Bilingual Education at the State and great collaborator in the efforts to get passed the Bilingual Education Legislation, first in the Country. Please receive my condolence .
