Raleigh Wright Obituary
Born in Dallas, he was a son of the late Raleigh Thomas Wright, Sr. and Ora Lee Pasour Wright. Mr. Wright was retired from Owen Steel and was a member of Dallas Baptist Church. He was the Valedictorian of Dallas High School, Class of 1961 and attended Appalachian State and N.C. State. Mr. Wright was an avid bowler who competed in many leagues and tournaments. He was also a huge Duke fan and a cat lover and collector.
In addition to his wife of 40 years, Mr. Wright "Tommy" is survived by two daughters, Karen Wright Huffman (Lane) and Karena Denise Jacobs (Chuck); a son, Raleigh Thomas Wright, III (Frances); two step-sons, Robert Thomas Crump and Arthur Lewis Crump (Deborah); a sister, Rebecca Lee Stinson (Bobby); a brother, Fredrick Nicholas "Buster" Wright (Melanie); 12 grandchildren, Kristi, Tony, Karel, Keisha, Charlie, Maggie, Abbie, Libby, James, Ashley, Brandon, and Matthew; and 5 great grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held by the family. The service will be live-streamed on the Carothers Funeral Home Facebook Page on Saturday, March 27, 2021 beginning at 12:00 PM.
Memorials may be made to the Gaston County Animal Care "Cat Division", 1491 Business Park Court, Gastonia, NC 28052. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.carothersfuneralhomedallas.com.
