Ralph was one of the most memorable athletes I had the privilege to coach. He was a gifted runner on our 1975 Olympus High School State Champion Cross Country team. Ralph was analytical about his races and always the first to encourage and congratulate his teammates after a practice or race. Later in life we both had downtown offices and met for lunch numerous times to rehash high school stories and get caught up on his family and other people we had in common. Dian, Jen.Ryan and Spencer... Ralph was a positive force in my life. From elementary and junior high, through fun memories during high school years and then as such a supportive dad throughout Girl Scout, Cubscout, soccer and preschool carpools. My heart is with each of you. I will indeed take a hike, play chess with my grandkids and make a thrift store visit and feel grateful for his kind influence in my life.
