RANDY ENDECOTT Obituary

Randy Endecott, AIA, NCARB, 66, passed away November 25, 2015, in Kansas City, Mo. Randy grew up on the family farm in Drexel, Mo., causing mayhem alongside his three younger brothers while learning to fix anything and everything from his father, Raynard Endecott who has preceded him in death. An avid car guy, golfer and wise-cracker who was loved by many; Randy studied architecture at Kansas State University and even embraced his Jayhawk friends and family. He taught his daughters how to change a tire before they could see over the steering wheel and his son how to operate power tools before he was strong enough to even hold them. He traveled the world with his wife and love, Kathy, where they experienced many cultures together. Randy was a lifelong architect with a career spanning 40 years at Kansas City firms, BNIM, Populous and most recently Burns & McDonnell. Randy was an active member of AIA Kansas City and served on the KC City Planning Commission. He is survived by his mother, Helen Endecott, his spouse, Kathy Anderson, daughters, Tara Fitzgerald and Keely Daly (Brendan), son, Chad Anderson (Megan), grandchildren and future pro golfers, Colin, Delaney, Liam, Ciara and Avelin, brothers, Steve (Kay), Walt (Patti) and Phil (Linda) and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Randall Endecott to the Kansas State University Foundation for the College of Architecture, Planning & Design. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, at Christ Community Church, 400 West 67th St., Brookside, with a service to follow at the church. April 29, 2016

I just recently learned about Randy's passing. I worked with Randy as early as 1978 when he was an Associate with PBNA Architects, now BNIM Architects.

Randy took me under his wing and taught me the importance of keeping the bar high. Randy was a major influence in the path of my career as a young Architect.

Later, our paths crossed again when Randy was one of the lead Architects with BNIM on the $1 billion Sprint World Headquarters Campus in Overland Park.

I was saddened to learn of Randy's passing. However, my memories of Randy brings a smile to my face and a warmth to my heart.

You will be missed by many. Thank you for being my mentor for so many years my friend.

Dear Kathy,
My heart goes out to you and your family in your loss. Though I never met Randy, you brought him into conversation so easily, happily, lovingly that the strength of your connection came through. I hope in the days to come that that connection, though deeply sad to lose, will sustain all of you somehow. My thoughts are with you Kathy.
Love,
Carol

Kathy - I am sorry for your loss and my condolences to you and your family. Randy was great to work with and a great lunch buddy! I worked with Randy for four years on projects in Doha. We just had lunch at Papus a few weeks ago. For the record, not that Randy was a bad driver, but I always volunteered to drive for lunch after the first NASCAR experience he provided me in his Smart Car :) I don't think that vehicle was meant to go that fast :) His wit, laughter, and smile will be missed but not forgotten.

I am so sorry to hear of Randy's passing. Although he was a couple of years behind me at K-State, he was one of those guys you always noticed and remembered for his enthusiasm and talent. It was not until about 30 years later that our paths crossed at KU Medical Center where he brought that same spirit, talent and great personality. We were all blessed to have had him in our lives and his passing is way too soon. May God grant you and your family peace during this difficult time.

I was saddened to hear about Randy's passing this morning and he will truly be missed. He was a great guy and it was a privilege to work with him at KU Med Center in Facilities Planning. For those of us that are architects, it is so much fun to work with people that know what they are doing and always pushed the envelope, and Randy did. I am so sorry for your loss.

My sincere condolences to everyone! I regret I have other commitments for Monday, but for that I would be there for a last farewell.
I knew Randy from the early days together in architecture, and Randy crewed with me racing C-Scows at Lake Lotawana. We lost touch when I became Corporate Architect for Executive Hills, but I know we have all lost a fine human being, architect and family man.
