Not sure what to say?

Ray, I miss our talks. No matter how much time passed between phone calls and conversations. It was like we had just spoken a few days before. Miss you very much my friend! Love The Ingersoll Family

I just saw a notice on an old insurance policy that Ray had passed and we are so sorry. Our whole family loved him. Joyce and dean cook

Not having talked to Ray since HS, I was for some reason moved to do an online search for him. That shows how much of an impact he had on people - I really didn't know him that well. Imagine my surprise to find that he passed away, more than three years ago already! While I was saddened to learn that he has left this earth, I was encouraged to read the comments of so many people who were touched by him in the course of his life.
I remember an incident on a jr. high basketball bus trip in...

I knew Ray for just one year at Jefferson High. I was a transfer student for my senior year and I do recall seeing Ray in the hallways or sitting on the benches, and he always seemed to have a smile on his face. Though we were not close friends, it was quite apparent that he loved life and loved the warmth of the friends around him. I pray for his family's peace and continued strength in the Lord.

Dear Marty,

This is Abdoulaye Saine, the African student who attended Jefferson High for one year and graduated in 1975 with you. Every so often, you come to mind, and today I decide to Google your name- I had done so before several years ago, and found out you were at CU. I remember you fondly along with a few of our classmates (Michelle ?), (Terri,?) Lisa Mango, Tiscano (?). I also remember fondly Mr. Moore, one of our teachers, Mr. Dohrty (sp. ?), the gentleman who taught...

Why today, after nearly three months, I choose to sit down to write my own entry to a book I have read and reread with my eyes welled up in tears? I guess I too want to contribute to saying how very, very much Ray is missed. Not an entire hour in these three months have I stopped thinking about him. Somedays I cry at every memory, and I am not even ashamed to publicly display this, since I cannot even withhold this deep pain from anyone, my children, even my students. It's unbelievable to...
