Ray Gannon Obituary

Ray W. Gannon
Ray Wynn Gannon, Jr., age 86, a resident of Atwater, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 17, 2022.
He was born January 7, 1936, in North Wildwood, New Jersey, to parents Ray Gannon and Julia (Ingersoll) Palmer. Ray proudly served his country as a sergeant of the US Marine Corps.
He went on to a lengthy career in appliance repair, first as a repairman, and later in appliance parts sales. He enjoyed fishing and bowling in his earlier years. Ray was a man with deep faith and became a Chaplain to help spread God's word. Ray was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church in Ravenna.
Ray is survived by his children: Christie (Ed) Dowling, Nancy (Jay) Ayers, Michael (Jeanette) Gannon, and Stephen (Marsha) Gannon, his sister Virginia (Hans) Kolb and sister in law Dee Gannon, as well as his 11 grandchildren and all of his loving great-grandchildren.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Cecelia Gannon, and his brother Harold William Gannon.
His wishes for cremation are being honored and services will be held at a later time. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.wood-kortright-borkoski.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to New Testament Baptist Church, 3583 State Route 59, and Ravenna, OH 44266.

Have many good memories of a Grandfather that didnt have to be, a Godfather if you will. Many times you reached out to be the father figure at times I needed.
