Raymond Jeffers Obituary

Raymond C. Jeffers
Raymond C. Jeffers, 68, passed away at his home on July 5, 2002, with his loving family by his side. He was born on November 16, 1934, in Gilboa, N.Y., the son of Raymond and Blanche (Garrett) Jeffers. He married Audrey A. Shaw on May 18, 1958. Ray served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955, during the Korean Conflict. He received the United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Ray was a construction worker and worked for the Laborers Union for 38 years. He is survived by his wife, Audrey A. Jeffers; and his six children, Raymond and Peggy Jeffers, Pittsfield, Mass., Mike and Tanya Jeffers and their three children, Mike II, Derek and Kassie, and Aaron Jeffers, West Davenport, Lori and Jim Maerz and their children, Rob and Kelly, and Alyssia Maerz, Garrattsville, Brian and Mary Jeffers and their two children, Brian II, and Jenifer Jeffers, Edmeston, David Jeffers, Hartwick and his six sons, David II and Christian, Oneonta, also Michael, Dustin, Malena, and Deliza, Edward and Mary Jeffers and their two children, Kristine Jeffers and Emily Story, Davenport. Ray is also survived by five brothers, Larry and Rose Jeffers and family, Middleburg, Thomas and family, Schenectady, Paul and his family, Schenectady, Raymond and Kathy and family, Clifton Park; two sisters and their spouses, Muriel and Bob Fink and family, Esperence, N.Y. and Carolyn and Tom, Middleburg. He is also survived by his Uncle Eric and Aunt Agnes Garnett, Riverhead, N.Y. Funeral services will be private and held on Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at 1 p.m. at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta with the Rev. Laverne Saxer, Pastor of the Hartwick Christian Church, officiating. Friends may call Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. at which time the family will be in attendance. Arrangements are by the Bookhout Funeral Home, Oneonta.
