Read MoreMy parents commissioned Raymond to do a portrait of me when I was 2 years old. He must have been 22 at the time, in Honolulu HI. We emailed 5 years ago and he remembered me. I'm sure he's making the angels very happy now and that they welcomed him with open arms.

Ray was one of the classiest, most dignified members of the Society of Illustrators during my 34 years there. There was never a boast about his connection to illustration royalty in Wilmington. And he had a sincere laugh and smile. That I will always remember.
