Not sure what to say?

Ray was always such a kind man and his joy was contagious. Those of us who knew him from Safeco admired him. He will be greatly missed.

At Ray's memorial service, daughter Nancy remarked that they were a little unsure of Ray's responsibilities at SAFECO. Allow me to fill in the blanks. From the 1970s through most of the 80s, Ray supervised the employee training team. This was an outstanding group of about 6 people who taught new employees the basics of insurance as well as specific skills according to their job assignment (underwriting, marketing, etc.). Hilda and Ray Packard

Ray, we've had a lot of fun and good times over the years, I'm glad to have had you as a friend. You will be greatly missed.

The must be wonderful father of my long ago friend, Brian. I know he must have been wonderful by what a terrific person he raised in Brian. My prayers are for peace for the entire family. Sincerely, Lynda Upton,(Sundstrand)retired and now living in Kennewick, WA.

Ray approached new adventures with the great gusto he brought to all he did. His joy in life will always be our gift.

Praying for comfort for the family.

I first meet Ray when I was a college intern in the education and training dept at SAFECO back in the 80's. He was very kind and had a great sense of humor. To the Packard family, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Ray was a stalwart member of the Education Department at SAFECO for many years. You could say he helped launch a thousand careers in his time. Everyone loved the guy!

I bought a pig from him once. That's right, for a time he and Hilda raised some pigs and when it came time to butcher them, I bought one of them for our freezer.

Ray, you were one of the nicest, most genuine persons I've ever met. I was honored to be associated with you.

Thanks for the great memories Ray, you were a great father-in-law,RIP
