Not sure what to say?

I was a high school senior who interned at the California Board of Medical Examiners in Sacramento when Mr. Reid was the Executive Secretary back in the early 70s. The kindness, warmth and attention he showed me as a teenager in an incredibly busy office speaks to his strong character and generosity.

I remain thankful for having met him.

a lovely man-a lovely family-well met briefly

AM looking for relatives of Ray and Joan Reid as I have letters that Ray's mother, Emily, wrote to my mother when Emily lived in China back in the 20's and 30's. Also have a couple photos of Ray when he was little and living in China. I feel his relatives should have these letters and photos as memories are important.

Dear Joan,
I have such wonderful memories of Ray in California and earlier in New York City. Will always remember meeting you in Coronado and having an outstanding evening on the beach. My thoughts are with you and your family and I know we'll always remember his wonderful smile and laughter. Love to all, Valentine

Hi Joan and girls, this is Dan Via. You probably don't remember me, but I worked for you at the kennel in the fall of 1990 while I was going to school and waiting to go to USMC Bootcamp. There have been few people that have had a profound effect on my life and Ray was one of them. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing, I just expected him to live forever I guess. I was watching a program last night regarding Ronald Reagan's legacy and it reminded me of the stories that Ray told me...

Dear Joan,
Ray was an exceptional gentleman and a delight to know. I enjoyed talking to him always and he once gave me some very good real estate advice. I am sorry for your loss and wish you peace of mind and heart. Warmest regards, Terry Tonjes (Sacramento CA)

Joan and Family,

Sorry to hear about Ray. His easy style and smile will always be remembered. We miss the ground hog days with all of you,

Love the Chandlers, Ann, Jeff, Wil, Cailin and of course the corgi's Hanna and Smudge and the gals at Cornflower Farms

Halsey, my condolences for your loss. I, too, have thought of your father as Mr. Nice as he treated me well and appeared to take an interest in me. I still have the Marine Corps tie pin he gave me. I had no idea how extraordinarily accomplished he was as he was not boastful or arrogant.

Please extend my sympathies to your mother.
