Bates was a wonderful guy and going to be missed by many. I have known Bates going back to our younger years in Brownsville, Tn. Although, we lost touch over the years, I always considered him a close friend and loved him dearly. I know he is in Heaven and will see him again one day. I’m Praying for peace and comfort for Pam, Ben, Molly, his brothers Bill and Steve and all family.❤

He was my sons baseball coach. "GO CARDINALS". He was an amazing mentor and wonderful example for the youth he led. He will be sorely missed.

Bates was one of our favorite people at the VolShop. He was always smiling, always in a good mood and treated us like family. We loved to watch him light up when he talked about his kids, he was so very proud of Ben and Molly. He was one of the good ones and he will be missed.
