Not sure what to say?

Our deepest condolences to the Wong Family. Ray was a very special person. We would go to his store every day, after school, buy candy chips and all the good things kids love. I married and moved to San Diego, and when I came to visit my parents, had to stop and check in with Ray and Eva and chit chat. Miss those days. Great memories. RIP

ray was 1 of a kind, a good decent man, who sold me many, many a cold 1, rip old friend.

I remember Ray operating Ray's Market in EL Centro. His store was like a tiny museum, housing items like old fashioned scales, used shopping carts, etc. I use to chide him that he should charge an admission fee to enter his store! He was handy with the knife sharpening stone, which he used on a knife that I found along the canal bank. To this day, that knife is as sharp as the day he sharpened it, some 20 years ago! Ray was a one of a kind merchant and will be sorely missed to those who...

The market in the 1980´s was a part of my growing up in the neighborhood until I graduated h.s. in `87 and we moved. Walks over to the store and the Wong family behind the counter are fond memories! When I returned to CA in 2011 after more than a decade in WA, the market was one of the cherished places of memories I beelined for, and it had just closed the year before, so I was sorry to miss seeing the Wongs again. Sylvia, you and your family are in my prayers. Elizabeth "Betsy" (Clark) Barnes

I will miss you Ray, Thanks for all the great memories and advice. We will see you in heaven. Love, Kris and Mary

We were friends since the first time I stopped in Ray and Eva's market. I was new to Imperial Valley and they wanted to know where I was from. Why I had come to The Valley. We found we had mutual friends. But even better over 20 years, it was a place to stop and hear about their family and the events in our lives. Ray, it was a pleasure to know you and Eva.

My deepest condolences may you R I P.
