Remedios Guerrero Obituary

REMEDIOS T. GUERRERO Age 86, of Fontana, CA, went home to our Heavenly Father on January 18, 2015. Remedios was born in Sinajana, Guam. At the age of twenty, she married Jesus T. Guerrero, who was an active member of the United States Navy. In 1954, she left Guam to join him when he became stationed in Texas, then later in California where they lived for nearly 15 years, raising their ten children. They later retired to Perris to live out their twilight years. Remedios remained faithful to Jesus for 55 years until his sad passing. She then went to live with family members residing in Fontana and Corona with her granddaughter Debra Cepeda, her husband Johnny and great grandchildren Jay and Faith. They embraced Gramz with much love and tried to fulfill her every need. Remedios raised Deb and thought of her as more of a daughter and loved her so dearly. Deb loved her Gramz just as much, if not more. Remedios was a strong woman who endured difficult trials throughout her life, but her strong faith in God helped her to overcome these times. She would always say "I may not be rich with money, but I'm rich in love," which was evident in the way she loved spending time with her family and friends, often playing card games, such as poker-keno, rummy and solitaire. Her love and memories will forever remain in the hearts of her surviving sons Johnny (Jeanette), Benny, Joe, Tommy, Peter (Rebecca), Frank (Sandra); daughters Maria Tenorio (Jose), Elizabeth Morris (Jonathan), and Teresa; grandchildren Timothy, Rebekah, Rachel, Stephen, Hannah, Jennifer, Zachary, Christiana, Anthony, Joseph, Jr., Michael, Daniel, Marissa, Andrew, Aaron, Debra, P.J., James, and Christina; 29 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; brother Francisco Toves; as well as many other family and friends. Remedios was preceded in death by her loving husband Jesus, son Antonio (Debbie), daughters-in-law Debi (Joe), Kathleen (Tommy), granddaughter Laura, parents Ramon and Isabel Toves, brother Jose (Rita/Louisa), sister Emelia and brother-in-law Jesus Terlaje and sister-in-law Josefina (Francisco). Her family hopes to honor her legacy by loving as she loved, forgiving as she forgave and living life as she lived. Viewing will be held on Monday, February 2, 2015 for family from 5pm-6pm, public 6pm-8:30pm; Rosary 7pm-7:30pm, all at Acheson and Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary, 7944 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside, CA 92504. Funeral services on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 12:00pm at St. Christopher Church, 25075 Cottonwood Avenue, Moreno Valley, CA 92553.

Remedios was a beautiful woman who cared deeply for her entire family. A woman of deep faith and love. As her health declined her children cared for her. She was a very loving mother-in-law and treated me as if I was one of her own. My daughter was blessed to have her as a grandmother.
