To Rene's loved ones: Could you tell me a little about Rene's life in California so we can publish a brief notice of Rene's passing for the Oakland Community College community here in Michigan? Thank you.

Rene gave me my start as a librarian at Oakland Community College in Michigan in 1971. What a fine person he was and an excellent librarian. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

It's very sad to hear that our friend and great librarian has passed away. I had the privilege to see and spoke with René at California .He was a great person. We will miss our colleague.

Dear J.C. and familia,
We were greatly saddened by the passing of Rene, a dear colleague and friend. A dedicated Reformista, he provided leadership and financial expertise for both the Los Angeles Chapter and the national organization for many years.

I will remember Rene as a person of great wit, integrity, and intelligence. My husband also sends his condolences. He and Rene often spoke of their days with the Census B.

Que descanse en paz.
