Retha Thorpe Obituary
Retha Boykin Thorpe, 77, of Louisville passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016. She was born April 12, 1938 in Central City KY to the late Marvin and Hallie Gish Stobaugh. She was the owner and operator of Indian Trail Shoe Repair for 43 years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands; Earl Boykin Sr. and Harry Thorpe Sr.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Earl Boykin Jr. (Linda), Marvin Thomas Boykin (Pam), Debbie Ann Boykin, Cristie Corum (James) and David Boystel, along with 8 step children, seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, her brother, Courtland Kincaide and many special friends.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at noon in Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Rd, with entombment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday March 1, 2016 from 2-8 pm at the funeral home and Wednesday from 11 am until the time of service at noon. I just found out about her death, was stopping by the shop and noticed it was closed.
I only knew her and the family from stopping in for shoe repairs, etc. and just to say hi.

Hen,
You will be missed so very much but we know you have went on home to be with your loved ones as well as your friends, my mom in particular. I know she was there to greet you with open arms and to walk the streets of gold with her. R.I.P. and know you will never be forgotten. We all love you!
