What a wonderful faculty member! As computing entered every discipline at RIT, DIck embraced it, learned how to best use it, and tested every software iteration so that the students benefited from both his expertise and the latest software tools. Coordinating around the quarter system challenged this aspect of our work; Dick communicated and scheduled changes well in advance, a true blessing. I can hear him now, laughing.
