I extend my deepest condolences to Dickies family. To young boys growing up in a small town, Dickies extraordinary athletic prowess coupled with his humor and sweetness set him apart from all others. He was our hero. I remember his dominance playing tail back for Mt. Greylock. I vividly recall his dominance as fullback for UMass in 1969 at the nationally televised Astro Blue Bonnet Bowl. To the Cummings Family, "Freight Train" was a man among boys when it came to anything physical at the high school. A great athlete, and had a "crazy" side at times that got much attention. His presence and antics will be missed. My sincere condolences.
