Richard Cusano Obituary

SOUTHINGTON - Richard Rogers Cusano, "Budweiser," 70, a longtime resident of Southington passed away on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, after his long battle with his life, for the past six months and has finally met up with his dad, mom and brother.

He was born March 16, 1941 son of the late Martin and Josephine (Nicoletta) Cusano. Richard in his younger years was a Southington auxiliary police officer. He had worked at the former Southington Hardware and retired later from the Barnes Group in Bristol. Richard led a quite life, his longtime hobby was the CB and Ham Radio, and everyone knew him as "Budweiser" which was his handle. He was a huge fan of the Yankees and spoke fluent Italian.

Richard leaves behind his brother, Joseph Cusano; his sister-in-law, Monica Cusano; he adored his nieces and nephews, Ashley and Brittany, Joey and Martin. He also leaves a brother, Martin Cusano and was predeceased by a brother, Funzey Cusano.

A funeral Mass will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St. Plantsville. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. For online condolences and directions please visit www.dellavecchiafh.com

Joe, Monica, Martin and family.............I am saddened to hear of Richards passing. I have millions of memories to cherish and will always remember him calling me his little sister. Mr. Budweiser is listed in my yearbook blurb and will always be a part of my heart.
