Dear Theresa, David, Hillary, My deepest condolences on the passing of your father. Richard was my professor at Canisius College in several mathematics courses. He was an enthusiastic, dedicated, and extremely knowledgeable teacher, but also a great mentor. He encouraged me to pursue a Ph.D. in mathematics, which I did, at his own beloved Alma Mater, Notre Dame.
