Richard Donnell Graves, 70 of 9307 Southwood Drive, North Dinwiddie, Virginia entered peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at River View On The Appomattox Health & Rehab Center in Hopewell, Virginia surrounded by his family.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents the late Mr. & Mrs. Robert and Queen Graves, two sisters; the late Mrs. Gracie Massenburg , Mrs. Ruby Harper, and one brother, Mr. Robert Levy Graves, and granddaughter, Miss Tyonna Graves.
At an early age, he accepted Christ and joined Little Bethel Church, Stony Creek, VA.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife of 50 years Selena Graves; two sons, Rodney Graves (Joyceline), Tyrone Graves Sr. and one daughter Kisha Graves; a special daughter LaTonya Graves; nine grandchildren, Jazmin Graves, Kolen Graves, Tyrone Graves Jr., Jonathan Graves, Morgan Bailey, Makaiya Mason, Tristan Graves, Aamir Graves, and Jakaree Lewis, all who loved him dearly, two sisters, Elsie Jones and Sandra Davis (Herbert); brother-in-law William Harper; three sisters-in-law, Deborah Artis, Clementine Smith (James) and Patrice Starkes (Ernest), an aunt, Arlene Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. A homegoing service will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, September 21, 2021, on the grounds of Johnson Funeral Home, Rev. Charles Davis, officiating. Burial will follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Cemetery, Dinwiddie, VA. Public viewing will be Monday, September 20, 2021, from 12-7 pm at the funeral home.
