Not sure what to say?

Rarely have the qualities of a great scientist, a skilled and compassionate physician, an inspiring teacher and mentor, and a great friend, been harmonized in one man. Dick Hays is that man and he will remain an inspiration to all of us.

bunny & bert Bell knew Dick Hayes quite well. He was a gracious , modest person who after spending some time with him turned out to be very knowledgeable. He was a gem of a person & will be missed.

Dick Hays was my colleague, mentor and friend. He was a consummate physician, sterling person, and a gentleman of the old school. It was a privilege to have known him. I mourn his loss, but I celebrate his life well-lived. Christos and I extend our deepest sympathy to Susan and his family.

Dear friends and colleagues of my father, Thank you so much for all your beautiful notes. I have been printing them out for my mother and we have been enjoying the photos and memories so much. We are planning a memorial service to celebrate his life on Thursday, Jan. 3, at 4 pm at Temple Shalom, in Greenwich, Conn. We would be honored to have you attend. All our love, Laurie

I knew Dick in many guises: committed scientist, dedicated teacher, supportive colleague, and persistent promoter of what he thought was best for Einstein. We should all aspire to match his example.

I've know Dick since the early 1960s when we both began to study the action of vasopressin. Over the years I've seen him excel as a scientist and real mensch. My condolences to his family and close friends.

Dear Mrs. Hays, I knew Dr. Hays since my Nephrology fellowship at Einstein. Dr. Hays was an amazing teacher, mentor and friend. Please accept my sincere condolences - his ever present support and encouragement is irreplaceable and will be very much missed by all of us.

Sorry to get the sad news. Condolences to the family. Although I have not seen Dick in years, I have fond memories of him and continue to value his scientific contributions.

Dear Mrs. Hays, we wouldn't be the doctors we are today without the mentorship of Dr. Hays. Our sorrow is only matched by our love for him.
