Not sure what to say?

It is with the deepest of heartfelt sadness that I say goodbye to such a gifted and compassionate man. Richard had the ability to make everyone he met feel special. From the very first day of 1st grade when I walked into Mrs. Marx's classroom and sat next to him, I knew I had a friend and brother for life. Rich was a great guy in do many ways,so sorry for your loss god bless

I had known Richard from our first day of junior high. Obviously, once he and Lisa left AP and eventually settled to raise their family in Columbus, the years passed and our paths only crossed occasionally. But, each time they did, I was reminded and happy to be around that same kind-hearted, caring guy - soft spoken, a genuine laugh, a warm smile - who made those around him feel special; this was Richard. Lisa and family...
So sorry for your loss. Richard Lay was a very good man. He had a great soul. I think he loved everyone he met. He always was concerned about others. I have know Richard for around 45 years. My family was blessed to have spent time with him this past summer. We had a lot of fun. Our family really loved Richard. Thoughts and Prayers for all who loved Richard.

We are so sorry for your loss. So many fun days and times spent during the summers watching you boys play Brookshire baseball. He was always a joy to be around and had such a wonderful sense of humor. Sadly missed by all that knew him
