Dear Susan, I was so sad to hear of Dick's passing. What a fine picture you put with the obituary. Dick was a high school classmate. My husband and I visited you long ago while you were building in your orchard. I have always had a sympathetic understanding of Dick's leaving the Sandhills. I, too, couldn't have the cattle ranch. Primogeniture and all that, plus being female. I am a retired English teacher and have returned to Nebraska to be near family. I can't imagine what a gap is...
